Seize Your Moment

I've noticed that when people get closer to a particular finish line in life they tend to run out of gas before they reach it. It's weird how we can be so close to one of our intended destinations and fail to give our all to apprehend it. I see the same perplexity in myself. It makes me think back to the time when I was going after my bachelor's degree. I worked very hard all the way up until the final quarter and for some reason I just got really lax and did not give all the effort I knew that I could. I still graduated, but I was disappointed in myself for not taking care of business the same way I did in previous quarters. I really believe that there is a mental shift that takes place in us when we realize that we are close to finishing something. We have to fight against the natural tendency to stop short of our intended target. Also, we must realize when we have grasped what we are after and capitalize off of what we have gained, rather than mismanaging the accomplishment and losing everything we worked so hard for. Seize your moments!

Stick and Move

Often times, things in life just don't make rational sense. That's when faith steps in and allows us to operate above what we see, feel, think, and even our experiences. Faith enables us to fight the good fight beyond our physical and mental limitations. I'm really starting to believe that adverse winds are an indication that I'm going in the right direction. Even with that knowledge, our humanity gets hurt, wounded, and bruised by the harshness of these tough conditions. But keeping our vision centered on the Eternal Father helps us take life's licks like a pro and come out as a champion. How Bout that!!!

Fight Well

If you want to do anything truly significant in life, it will not come without a fight. I'm not talking about throwing physical punches, often times we have to fight against doubt, fear, negativity, procrastination and a host of internal liabilities that work to hold us back from our full potential. Those who get past obstacles and end up making a huge difference in the world are those who make the choice to be the best they can be regardless of the external circumstances they are in. Fight to be a better person, leader, friend, parent, spouse, boss, employee, so on and so forth. The good life will not come easy, but it is so worth fighting for.
