You Can't Accomplish Your Vision By Yourself

There would be no need for faith or reliance on God if we could accomplish our dreams and visions without His help. Our potential is unlocked by staying in close proximity with the Author and Finisher of our faith. The moment we begin to venture outside of His presence, our thinking will become smaller, our capacity to capture our dreams/ambitions will wane, and our strength will slowly shrivel. God is the fuel source that keeps us running smoothly and who replenishes our faith level so that it matches the magnitude of our dreams. Don't chase what's in your heart without letting God change your tires and adjust your alignment from time to time. He makes for a much better ride on the road of fulfilling your vision.

Sometimes All It Takes Is A Spark

Sometimes all it takes to start a good fire is a spark. Yet sometimes a spark is one of the hardest things to create or obtain in a cold and damp environment. That's when the persistence of the "spark starter" must be unwavering. No matter how long it takes, how many setbacks, disappointments, or let downs, keep rubbing those twigs together until you get the heat that you need to blaze a brand new trail in your world. That spark may be the very thing that changes your entire landscape.

One Brick at a Time

How do you build a mansion that stands the test of time? One brick at a time. Any effort, vision, dream, goal worth anything takes a "long" time to come to complete fruition. A lot of people give up because the endurance to finish does not come easy (or naturally for some). It really takes making up your mind everyday, come hell or high water, that you are going to stick with it and see the process through. A mansion that takes a long time to build will more than likely be a comfy place to lay one's head for several generations to come.

Quality Takes Time

Sometimes I find myself in a hurry trying to get to my desired destination. But accomplishing anything of quality takes time. There is no way around it. Microwave success is easily duplicated and discarded. Yet crockpot achievement is respected much longer and not easily copied (The Pyramids, Stone Henge, The Sistine Chapel anyone?). Don't rush putting something out just to get something out. It is better to create something of lasting value than to produce the easily forgettable. It will come...

Putting It All Together

I'm in a season of life where I have my hands in a lot of things. Sometimes its hard to keep focus on the ultimate end goal because each area of my life has a goal in and of itself. Sometimes I wonder how everything will work out because on bad days, things can seem chaotic and hellishly disjointed. Good days are those rare ones where little to no fires have to be put out and when I get most of the things on my to do list accomplished. However, even in all of the messiness of life, we have to remember that there is a consistent rhythm that all of the elements of our life stay on beat with. We can't always recognize it, but its there. Sometimes we just need to get quiet to hear it. This brings about great peace and we can rest assured that everything is working together for our good, chaos and all.
